My attempt at the Wings by Macklemore
This is the original video of Wings.
For the APP task I was given the Wings song and the Wings video cut up to clips, to use to make up my own version of the song. We were told not to view the original video so we could use our own idea's and imagination to piece together the clips and music. This gave us freedom to edit the footage to the track however we wanted to whether the clip matched the lyrics or had no relevance at all, we could do what we wanted with it. When Macklemore raped, "Ma I touched the net!" I tried to match the child saying that in the video to Macklemore saying it over the top. I have become more aware of matching the lyrics to the video and how one piece of footage and a song can be pieced together in some many different ways and it still looks presentable. I learnt new skills such as cutting a clip to get the footage I wanted and slowing the clip down so it matched the song lyrics. Using these new skills I can then slow down bits in my video which would have a great effect on the video. In learning new techniques I can then use them in my music video so there are different effects instead of just one tone of video, with no effects. It will also keep the audience interested if there are different effects and different speeds of footage. This task has now made me realise the choice and effect I have other whether the lyrics match the video or not and the different messages the song can get across.
