Casting that would need to be done and is massively important in planning my music video. In my music video I will be having both a boy and girl casted, they must both be bubbly and be able to act as if they are in a relationship. They would both need to be confident especially the girl as she would need to lip sync at various points. If the people don't have any confidence then it would be hard for the audience to engage and connect with the characters, they both would need a personality that the audience could enjoy watching. As for the lip syncing the girl would need to be comfortable having a camera in there face as they sing along to the track in the background.
In choosing my cast I would need to make sure they don't have a massively busy schedule so when I go to plan to film they would be free of free at certain points such as after 3:30 on a Thursday. This would ensure that once iv casted the couple I can then start to plan a schedule on when we can all film.
Character's for my filming- The Girls
For the casting of the girls I got them to lip sync as this would be very important in my music video.
Katie Miller:
When I asked Katie to lip sync to my song I found she struggled with it, I had to record a few times for her to be able to be confident enough to do it. However as for the rest her clothing is very grown up and casual which is what I want in my music video for the girl character. However she may have been more confident if she had been given time to learn the lyrics to preform with. However she is very busy at the time I would need her to film due to her busy work schedule.
Tonicha Huges:
Again I found that Tonicha found it very hard to lip sync to my song as she didn't know the words to the song. She kept playing with her school tag and couldn't really look at the camera. However she is a drama student and maybe only struggled because she didn't know the words if she knew them maybe she would have been more confident. Also because she is a drama student she would be able to act the part of the girl character which is very helpful. Like Katie however she is really busy and was unlikely to be available for when I needed her.
Amy Taylor:
She is a very likely candidate for my music video although she doesn't go to my school she lives very close to me which means it would be easy to catch up and do some filming. She cares very much about fashion which means she would likely have to right clothes id like to use for costume. She would be confident enough to act in front of the camera and with her bubbly personality she would be the perfect female character for my video. Along with Nico I have already done some practice filming with them and they worked together really well so its likely id use them both together due to their good relationship, which would be maintained in the music video. Due to the fact she was busy when I was doing the filming for the lip syncing I am yet to find out how confident she at it but she was comfortable acting so its likely she would be fine lip syncing.
The Boys
For the boys casting it was much easier as they don't sing so I didn't need them to lip sync however I needed them to hold hands with a girl to prove they had the confidence to pretend to be in a relationship.
Luke Gibson:
As the boy doesn't sing he does a lot of acting when included pretending to be in a relationship, that's way I got the male to hold a females hand to see if he is able to play the character. Luke played the part really well and was confident in front of the camera and didn't mind holding Tonchia's hand which shows he'd be a good actor in my music video. However this look 2 attempts to film due to the fact they couldn't stop laughing which shows although he has a bubbly personality it may be difficult to film with.
Nico Yazdi:
Due to the fact Nico was injured at the time of the casting process, instead of getting him to walk holding hands with a female I got him to explain why I should have him in the music video. In front of the camera he is very confident which is what I need in my music video. Also he says he has good time management which is massively needed in filming my music video. Also he is very bubbly which means that he'd be good in the character of being in a relationship. He has already said he'd be happy to help and be in my music video and I have already done some practice filming with him so he would be my male character in my music video. As he attends 6 form like me it would be easy to organise filming due to the fact he would finish school around the same time as me so we could sort filming quickly and I could see him around in school to organise filming as well.
