Presentation of Evaluation Questions

This is me presenting question 1 of my evaluation questions.

Question 4

If the presentation doesn't work due to technical issues then these are the slides:

Question 3

Last bits of filming

After doing a first draft I decided I wasn't happy with how the video looked. I decided that I would need so last bits of filming. After school me and my male actor went off to do some more filming and ensure that I could do a last and final draft the the standard I wanted. After doing the last bits of filming I went on to edit it together deleting some of my old footage, that wasn't needed anymore.

Useful YouTube Videos

This is one of the videos that explains how to zoom this would be very helpful when editing for my second draft. I intend of zoom on some of my footage to ensure I get the desired effect on my video.

This is a video on how to add in colour to the person and keep the background in black and white however this may be very difficult to do due to the fact I want to keep 2 people in colour and this may not be possible or be too technical to do.

First Draft

I have now finished my first draft and can now get audience feedback and make any changes I need to before uploading my final video.

First Draft

I have now got a finished first draft, I can now ask for some audience feedback like I have previously done to see what changes I can make to try to make sure I complete a final draft soon.

Quicktime videos

I added in the dissolve effect which I used in various parts of my video. I thought I was a smooth effective way to transition through my footage.

I also filmed 5 minutes of  clouds moving then sped it up to make them look faster and like time is moving quickly.

In another quicktime I added in a title, which is the title of the song.

More filming

On the 13th and 14th of March I went out to film the rest of music video. I have now imported it so I can fit it in to my video.

Audience feedback

I decided to get some feedback on how I was getting on and I got this feedback:

  1. Start with a grey sea and end with a coloured sea to show before each other it was dull now with each other life is colourful.
  2. To get rid of the texting at the beginning as it wasn't really relevant and I could have filled it with something better.
  3. I was also told to add in footage of one bird flying around to show loneliness and then near the end had 2 birds to show love and happiness between them.
  4. I was told to  have some more lyrics stuck to trees as this was a good effect but not too much incase it looks boring and repetitive.

Evidence of editing

Firstly I began importing the footage of the lyrics on the tree so then I can see where the footage goes and then begin to fit the acting around the lyrics I have in place.

I then began looking at other pieces of footage to see which bits fit where.

I began fitting pieces of footage around to see how they look and check continuity is fine.

I then added on video effects such as a dissolve.

I also began cropping footage to try to get the split screen effect.

I added in the black and white effect to make a part of the footage look it like it happened a while ago and the black and white effect I think makes it look old than it does in colour. I believe it adds a good effect to it.

As I went along I had to keep rendering my footage to make sure it didn't buffer and ruin the video.

This is an example of what the dissolving looks like in the footage.

After doing a rough edit I have realised there is a few gaps so I will come up with ideas on ways to fill them.

Production: Filming

After trying to film on Monday I decided against it as the weather showed it would rain- it did. Instead I decided to film on the Wednesday it was a lovely day and it was unexpected sunshine which worked at my advantage due to the fact it was winter when I filmed I expected it to be freezing and snowing which it wasn't which meant I could film for longer and get a range of shots with the sun in it.

After doing this filming it now means that I can begin to edit my footage and then go out and film any extra footage I need to such as the lip syncing which I haven't done yet. If I should need any other footage I have already got a range of ideas should I need to film more.

Planning: Location

A field

This is one of the fields I would like to film in as it is a open space and would mean it is unlikely that there would be many people around. Also if I want to do a split scree of action I could as there isn't anything such as people or cars or buildings that would affect my continuity.

One of the streets

This is where I could film the female walking down the street to go meet to male character and would film it here. It's a close which means there would be a only a few cars going up and down which would mean it likely no cars would be going up or down the street at the time of filming and disturb us. The street is quite wide as well so I can get a range of different shots. Also because its just one straight road its easy to film with. Due to the fact at the bottom of the street is bungalows then at the top its the bigger houses it means it would be easier to match up continuity as there is only really 2 types of houses so they more or less look the same which is helpful when doing continuity.

Another field and grass land

This is a open area so it means it is likely to be quiet as it is out of the way and not many people go down there. There is also trees and broken trees that the couple can sit on and chill.

This was a huge field that has no urban features in the background so it means that it would be a really nice establishing shot for the beginning of the video. Also it would look nice with the split screen as it means there isn't anything such as cars that would ruin the continuity of the shot.

Although the water is very dirty which isn't ideal for the theme of the song it would be a lovely location where the couple throw sticks off of the bridge and due to the fact there is a ledge it means I can get range of shots from different angles.

This is a very good potential location for parts of my video due to the fact it is really near to the rest of my locations (fields) so it means I could film most of it in one day however I could have liked the swing to have 2 swings so they could swing together but I could still easily work around that problem.

Another street

This would be a good location to film with as its a long straight road so its easy to film down while there is the male is walking. However it isn't so quite so I may struggle with continuity of the shots.

West Bay Beach

This would be good to film here due to the fact it's a lovely quiet beach with blue water so it looks professional. However when I film it would be with out my characters so to film here id only be able to get footage of the surrounds and the waves I wouldn't be able to get footage for the characters at this scene. So if I want to get footage of them at the beach id have to film closer to where I live and just get scenery footage here.

Planning: Filming Schedule

I intend to the filming for the beginning of the video at the girls house on the 6th February. This means I would have the whole night to film and make sure it looks right.

The filming at the males house I plan to have that done on the 7th February as it means both the beginning sections are done and any changes that are needed to be made could be with enough time.

I intend to do the rest of my filming on Monday 16th February. As its at more or less one location I could do it all I one day to ensure continuity is fine so it isn't raining in one shot and sunny in the next which may happen if I film on different days. Also it is the holidays so it means I have the whole week to re film if I need to and that I don't need to worry about if it gets dark after school in the evening. I have the whole day in which it would be mostly daylight which is what I need. However it could be raining on Monday which means I may have to re schedule my filming, it would have to be something I decide on the day as the weather could say and it could be dry on that day.
