I believe the title backs up what the song is about, which is freedom and with the title Say Anything it shows freedom to say whatever you want. Which backs up the song lyrics.

With the word 'anything' said twice it shows there is a freedom to say whatever they want and that the person wants to know what is on there partners mind. The person then gives an explanation of what they would say. That even though they don't always say they love each other it doesn't mean they don't. The word 'baby' is a sweet word to show there is protection in the relationship and the one who is called baby is the one who is seen as innocent and needs protecting.

The song emphasises that you should always listen to your heart and go with what the heart says not what may seem as the logical thing to do, it's about emotional well being that the heart is important. Also there is a selfless factor in the song of putting someone else's happiness before there own they want to make sure there love is happy.
The song is a story of love and the question of if you were/ are free where you go and what would you do it's using imagination to answer where your imagination may take you. Also the question if you had the freedom of speech what would you say if you could say anything at all, which again is asking the person listening what they would say and do.
